Study on the Phosphatase Activities of Leukemic Blood

Abstract
A biochemical analyses were performed on 4 types of leukemic blood which were obtained from hospitals in Jun Buk from august, 1, 1985 to august, 30, 1985.
The results were as follow:
1. In a view of peripheral blood finding, each hemoglobin valuse of acute myelocytic leukemia (AML), acute myelomonocytic leukemia (AMMoL), acute lymphocytic leukemia(ALL) and chronic myelocytic leukemia (CML) was evaluated as 8.9g/dl, 9. lg/dl, 8.5g/dl and 9.6g/dl,respectively. The leukocyte counts in AML, AMMoL, ALL and CML were 26,100/cu.mm, 53, 000/cu.mm, 75,100/cu.mm and the blast frequences of the differential white cell count in AML, AMMoL, ALL and CML were 95%, 46%, 69% and 8%, respectively.
The platelet counts in AML, AMMoL, ALL and CML were 31, 400/cu.mm, 41, 000/cu.mm, 28, 000/cu. mm and 728, 000/cu. mm, respectively.
2. The alkaline phosphatase (ALP) activities of AML patients were increased to 241.0% in plasma but decreased to 65.2% in red blood cell (RBC) and 42.2% in white blood cell (WBC) and the acid phosphatase (ACP) activities of AML patients increased highly to 241.0% in plasma, 139.3% in RBC and 467.1% in WBC compared with healthy persons.
3. The ALP activities of AMMoL patients were increased to 285.3% in plasma and 181.6% in RBC but decreased to 86. 1% in WBC and the ACP activities in plasma, RBC and WBC were increased significantly to 283.6%, 456. 1% and 766.2%, respectively.
4. The ALP activities of ALL patients showed 344.3% in plasma, 128.1% in RBC and 109.2 % in WBC and ACP activities were increased to 234.4% in plasma but¢¥ decreased to 65. 1% in RBC and 83.3% in WBC.
5. The ALP activities of CML patients showed 252.5% in plasma, 158.2% in RBC and 32.3% in WBC and the ACP activities in plasma, RBC and WBC were 298.4%,141.4% and 738.5% of ¢¥control value, respectively.
6. The tartrate-resistant ACP activities were shown a similar pattern such as total ACP activities in 4 types of leukemia.
